Post subject: Two Documents of same marriage - but different..
I posted two documents (after a number of JPG issues).. In Polish Translations, but I think I should ask the "WHY" here.
The two documents were for the same marriage, both signed by the same pastor. One has a sequence number of 41, the other a sequence number of 107, then crossed out & re-written as 213.
As I can't read handwritten Polish, I asked if there is more than only the sequence number that differs. To my eye, it does appear that there are additional changes.
I've never seen this re-writing before, has anyone else seen it? Do you know (guess) why?
As above, you can see the documents in the Polish Translation section, I'm hoping someone can tell me the other differences if any..
P.S. The newer (second) document, like the first, was a .JPG. When attempting to upload it, it'd crash?!?. I copied it several times with different image editors (no problems), and each save created an even larger copy (clue?) Each copy would crash with the same memory filled error..
Finally I copied and saved it as a GIF file, and that DID upload without a crash. Again, any knowledge (or guess) what was happening? Zenon, your system (see the error msg I left in the other forum)
What a day for puzzlement!! (' ')

Bob,
Long ago I read about this but cannot remember where it was. I vaguely remember it was something about to have the same register transcribe to church and civil offices. Maybe the link below can help you on this (topic Copies). On my side, my grandfather's birth record was recorded in Latin (short paragraph) and Polish and Russian (long paragraphs).

Thanks Gilberto
I'll check that out..
Both documents are in Polish and very similar looking.. It wasn't until I looked closer that it appeared to be changed.
I wasn't able to get that second document uploaded. Though it was fine in several image editors, it crashed the upload process no matter what I tried.
One clue, the friend that sent me this one, said it was on a "RETAKE" film. Supposedly when the LDS people think it needs to be redone, it was re-filmed later.
I sent the JPG file to Zenon, I suspect there was something about the file that caused the crash, even though it displayed in my image editors with no problems.
