Greetings!
I wonder if anyone is familiar with the uniform in this sketch? I found this among my grandfather's things after he died.
I presumed it was his father who lived from 1862-1918. My grandfather was only 12 when his father died.
I know from the depiction that whoever this was served as an Uhlan, but I am wondering if this is my great-grandfather, or perhaps even someone further back in my family tree.

Any insight would be most appreciated to perhaps lead me to further research.

This may be too far back in time to be relevant to your great-grandfather, who was only a year old at the time of the uprising, but I still think that tapping in to the knowledge of military history buffs might be fruitful for you.
