Post subject: Property Ownership in Poland
I’m looking for property records for southern Poland for the period from 1700 to 1900 specifically, in the area around Czarny Dunajec. My grandfather came from Stare Bystre which is located next to Czarny Dunajec and his family lived and worked on a farm there. I don’t think that they owned the farm and I’d like to find any history on that farm. Who owned it? Did the entire community of Stare Bystre live and work on the same farm? Did the people that lived there own their home or did it belong to the landowner? What was the working relationship between the farmworkers and the landowner?
Does anyone have recommendations on how I might find this information?
