Hi,
Would you explain something please?
I know Bydgoszcz, having been there. But
when Geneteka lists a location as Bydgoszcz(Fara), is that the same city? Or somewhere different?
Thanks,

Hi,
I think Geneteka is referring to church books from St. Martin and St. Nicolaus church, commonly known as Fara. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bydgoszcz

Leonore,
Gilberto is right. Expression "fara" or "kościół farny" is used for the main parish church in the town. Usually it is the oldest church in the town or the main church in the deanery.
So in Bydgoszcz indeed it is the St. Martin and St. Nicolaus (cathedral church).
I hope that this will help you in your research (not only in Bydgoszcz).
