Today we start publishing new story by Carol: "Wanderlust: Polska 2014" .
Read and see how her Genealogy Tour in April and May 2014 begun:
"And so it begins, our trip to Poland. Chilly here in Cleveland, but the sun is shining. We are staying at the Hampton Inn Airport because they offer free parking during our trip and a free shuttle to the airport. After doing research on my Polish roots for 25+ years, I am finally going to visit the ancestral homeland".

"Since our research was done, we went to a Skansen (...) What were most interesting was the authentic dirt floor homes, which my great-grandparents lived in. My grandmother, Halina Buszek, used to tell the story of how her mother Stanislawa Langiewicz lived in a dirt floor home and how she hated that. Seeing it brought that story alive to me..."

"We went to Auschwitz and Birkenau, this is a UNESCO world heritage site. We saw the same teens from Israel that had walked there from Krakow that we saw at the hotel in Warsaw. Very touching to see them honor their fallen ancestors. They are all wearing the Israel flag around their shoulders..."
