So I was searching http://www.szukajwarchiwach.pl for Manasterz, which showed up in several American records for my ancestors.
I ran across something I hadn't expected. Apparently during WWI (1917) the posterunki żandarmerii (gendarmerie) kept lists of those they deemed not politically reliable from each village. Of all things, I found my grandfather's father (Jacob Sowa) listed! I knew he returned to Poland around 1907 or so, but wasn't sure where he went. When his youngest son (Franciszek) immigrated in 1914, he reported his residence as Medynia Kanczucka. Then, when the gendarmerie listed Jacob in their list, wouldn't you know, he was from Medynia Kanczucka!
What that obscure record told me is:
1) Keep looking for anything...you never know what you will find and the sort of things you will learn.
2) Jacob lived at least a decade after he returned to Poland.
3) With four of his five living children in America, I am not surprised that his loyalties were with those fighting Austria/Germany.

Does anybody know if data from Zubrzyca Dolna are available online? Zubrzyca Dolna belonged to Hungary empire at the time. I am searching for surname Vorcsek, they lived here late 1760s according to Maria Theresa's Urbarium of 1767.

I don't have a definitive answer, but my relatives were from this same area - Nowy Targ and Rabka. Records for these 2 larger towns have not been microfilmed by the LDS and are not yet showing in any Polish online resources. In 2009 I went to my 2 churches & was able to get the record info. (1870-1890) I requested at the time. In 2015 when I wanted further info. (back to 1800) I hired a researcher who searched the Krakow Diocesan Archives for Rabka records and arranged for someone to do further research in the Nowy Targ church records.
In general, from what I've seen on PO regarding this particular corner of Galicia, the church did not allow the LDS to microfilm their records, and many of the priests in the smaller villages still aren't the most willing to help, even when you show up in person. I'm sure others will chime in if they don't agree. Good luck. ~PL

Is there a contact at http://www.szukajwarchiwach.pl/ for broken links? I am interested in viewing records for Karnkowo in the year 1860 but the records attached for "1860" are those for 1844. The surrounding years (1859, 1861) are correctly linked but there is a problem with 1860.

Has there been a new list made of the new scans? I noticed today that the website lists 20,734,556 scans. It was 18 million just a few weeks ago.

THe column headiings mean
1 - ?
2 - Number and name of the archive
3 - Team number (According to the format: archive / team / further part number, team, eg. 72/158/0)
4 - Band name (or team name, group name, etc.)
5 - Range of units
6 - Number of scans
This is according to Google Translate. I think "team" really means something like "category", or the name of that particular group of records.

Hi,
#1: Number of entry in sequence on this list.
#3: Number of the collection (the numbering system the archives use to keep track of materials)
#4: Name/Designation of the collection
The other columns are as Google translated the headings.
How to use this info?
Cheri posted the list to answer a specific question from Beatrix about the latest records on the szukajwarchiwach site. All the list does is provide info about what is new to the site. To use the info it is necessary to go to the site, click on the box "only with scans", type in the name of the place and search from there. Of course, if you have a specific location in mind, it is just as easy to skip the list and go directly to the szukaj... site.
