Post subject: vital records for surname Bielec in area of Dynow, Brzowow
Hello,
My paternal grandfather, Jan Bielec, listed his place of birth as Dynow in the immigration passenger list. However, U.S. census records and draft registration also indicate his birthplace as either Beszowa or Bzowow. Jan could not read or write, so these places of birth were written by the clerk based on the verbal answers Jan provided.
1. Geneteka does have a birth entry for a Jan Bielec in 1894 (this 1894 date agrees with the other documents I have) in Beszowa but the document is not scanned, so I cannot confirm if this is indeed his record. I know the names of Jan's parents, so if I could see the documents I can check the accuracy. Can I get this document online somewhere else so I can check it?
2. Can anyone point me to other databases for vital records for Dynow or Brzowow?
Thanks,
Cynthia

Cynthia,
You can view Beszowa records in the link below. I am afraid, however, that Geneteka index is wrong because the birth record in #9, in 1894, does not refer to a Jan Bielec.

Additional info: I think the place is Brzozow, near Dynow. See map attached.
Beszowa is too far, in my opinion.

THank you, Gilberto. Yes, I see. I agree that Beszowa is most likely too far. And I also see that Geneteka index is incorrect. Thank you for your opinion - it is helpful.
In my research I also discovered a large number of people with the surname Bielec originating in Ulanica which is very close to Dynow. So, I will also focus on Ulanica just in case my grandfather gave the name of the nearest city (Dynow or Brzowow) rather than his village.
Gilberto, do you know where I can look for Dynow, Ulanica, Brzowow records? Geneteka doesn't seem to have much in the Podkarpakie province. Are there any online records for these areas?
Many thanks for any help/ideas where I can check...

Cynthia,
Was Jans's fathers name Marcin or Antoni? His mother's name may be helpful too. Do you know a month and or day when he was born? I found something on Ancestry.com and if it is Marcin or Antoni I think I can manage to send the document to you from there. Please verify if either of these is correct. I will send a private message to you to get your personal email address so I can forward it to you.

Hello MaryAnn, thank you for your efforts! However, I already have all the US and immigration documents for Jan Bielec through Ancestry.com. Now I am looking for his Polish vital records and those of his parents, Marcin Bielec and Tekla Gasecka. Thank you again. Cynthia
