Post subject: In search of Josef Szwed birth around 1825
I have located my grandfather's birth record in the Belarus archives in Nacha Russia just over the border of Lithuania and in Belarus in 1890
I found my great grandfather, Adam Szwed marriage record in 1885 born in 1860 Nacha Russia
I have found My great great grandfather's records of births starting in 1855 in Nacha Russia but have been unable to locate a marriage record in either the Lithuanian or Belarus archives.
I have searched the microfilms (Familysearch.org) of the following parishes:Voronova, Eishishki, Radun, Ishcholno, Solechniki, Osova, Verkh, Beniakony, Vasilishki, Butrimantsy and Zabolot. These church records were bundled with the microfilms of the Nacha church and many Szweds were found within. But have not located located a marriage record.
I am thinking of jumping my search to look for a record of birth around 1835 but I would have no way of linking or proof of heritage. Does anyone out there have any ideas on how I would go about finding a marriage record?
My problem is I think with the mind of a 20th -21 century man. It would seem to me that travel would have been very difficult because of the lack of railroads and telephones in this time period. I have also considered that my GG Grandfather may have been in the army of there may have been an arranged marriage.
Emails can reach me at chrisszwed (at) hotmail (dot) com or on this forum
I have made many discoveries in the historic record from 1909 and all the way back to 1855
