I am looking for information on my gggrandparents. Jan Ferdynand Rapke was born about 1858 in Pawłów Górny, district of Piotrków. I know records are there but do not know if they are online. Would love to know more about his family. My gggrandmother is another story...a brick wall. Barbara Weinz mother was Karoline Rickert born 1842 and married Joseph Weinz. I can find anything on Weinz family. Her 2 brothers John and Paul came to US in 1903. Their death cert. listed the parents. Paul Weinz & Catharina Herauf were married in Warsaw on Feb. 14, 1897. There is not a record with the spellings that I can find. Possible spelling changes on the name. They had 3 children born....can not find them either. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Karen

Karen,

If Ferdynad was roman-catholic try Bogdanow; if protestant try Piotrkow Trybunalski:
http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/pow-254

Genteka shows a marriage between a Weinz and Weirauch (Herauf?) in Warszawa, 1836:
http://geneteka.genealodzy.pl/index.php?rid=S&from_date=&to_date=&search_lastname=weinz&search_lastname2=&rpp1=0&bdm=A&w=71wa&op=gt&lang=pol

However, I cid not find a marriage between Pawel and Ewa in 1897 in that parish:

If they married in a RC church then you may want to search here:

Gilberto,
All the information I found on Barbara Weinz and Ferdynand Rapke was in the Evangelical Parish of the Augsburg Confession in Warsaw. Also Ferdynand's death in 1906. I know from that cert. he was born in Pawlow Gorny and maybe that is where Barbara was from too. Her brothers John and Paul married Herauf sisters Paulina and Catharina (she went by Christine in US). Their brother Henry married my great Aunt Natalie Rapke in US. Another brother Michael married in the US. Their father was Frederick Herauf and mother Amalia. They all lived in Poland but Herauf and Weinz sound German. Karen

Hi,
They both are my great uncles. I even have contact with the family. They were my grandmother Emily's brothers. The only thing I found out is that John. Paul and Barbara were orphaned rather young. The boys were put in a orphanage until they were older. Barbara (my gg grandmother) was the oldest and was on her own. The only info I have gotten on her is from the church in Warsaw. Only births of her children and death of husband Jan was found. A lot of the records were destroyed. I have found nothing on Herauf and only the info on my gg grandmother. No idea where they were married. I am trying to find out more on their parents early deaths. No luck yet. This is my brick wall. Lucky to find death record of my gggrandfather Jan and where he was born.
