Ted answered me that "commos" is Australian slang for communists ... we called them "commies" here in the US.
hmmm, so how did Ted get from Poland to Australia? I am looking forward to part 4.

Post subject: The story of my life - pt. IV
Ted, Thank you soooo very much for sharing your life story with us. Yours is a different story, compared to most that I've read; people involved in the military battles, held in prisons, and the death camps. I have enjoyed learning about another aspect of how poles lived and survived the war. I was not aware that some forced labor was on farms. Indeed , you were fortunate, considering the whole situation.

Post subject: LIFE AS A FORCED LABOURER IN GERMANY
James,
I very much appreciate your comments about my life story. I hope that it will continue to be of interest as you read further.
Yes, I was definitely one of the lucky ones because the German farmer was not a Nazi sympathiser. On the contrary, he was a staunch Catholic and hated Nazis.
But some of the other farmers were the opposite and the labourers did experience very harsh treatment.
In fact, the Bishop of Munster made a strong stand against the Nazi movement and was almost executed. I read that the only reason his life was spared was because Hitler was concerned about repercussions from the large Catholic community in that area. _________________ The character from Downunder!

Hi Tad (or, should it be Ted),
Your story continues to fascinate me. You certainly know how to tell a good story, have you done other writing? And thanks for adding the pictures.
I looked up "flying fox" and "skip" ... Wikipedia had a good explanation of flying fox, which led me to zip-line ...
