I would like to find out the origins of two of my family surnames.
Smykowski and Ostapkowicz.

Smykowski from Polish smyk - "kid, whipper-snapper" or smykać - „to escape quickly; to pinch".

In 2002 there were 666 people bearing the surname Smykowski living in Poland. Detailed map can be found here https://nazwiska-polskie.pl/Smykowski .

In 19th century there was one noble man mentioned in 1789: Smykowski, no coat of arms, from Courland region.

Ost-; Ostapkowicz from Ukrainian names Ostap, Yevstakhiy
