Thank you.

Thank you so much. That translation is really impressive. I am assuming it is written in Russian? I am a little confused as to why Geneteka referenced this entry since it does not appear to be related to the Chrzanowski family line. Thank you again.

Hi dac4455,

Yes, it is in Russian.

I am curious as to how Geneteka linked you to the wrong record, and I would guess that there is still a record out there that you would like to find. Can you recall exactly how you set up your search in Geneteka? By which I mean, were you looking for all Chrzanowski records in one parish, or were you looking for a specific given name among Chrzanowskis in a specific timeframe, or what? Maybe we can help you find the image of the record you are looking for.

The record that you posted is from the Szelków parish, specifically the birth records for the period 1888-1894.

Best regards,
Sophia

Hello Sophia,

I am probably misinterpreting the information from Geneteka. I did a search for the time period 1650 - 1890,
and Chrzanowski under Mazowieckie and the parish of Szelkow. The results indicated that in 1888 there was a birth of Rozalia Chrzanowski. The birth parents were Roman and Marianna in Szelkow, Rostki. This is the correct town and names for my hushand's great grandfather. Under SKAN I was brought to the Metryki.geneolodzy website which referenced a birth in 1888 under file #104.

I am trying to research the paternal family line as far back as I am able, but the language barrier makes it very difficult. I figured the information under #104 might give me some more clues to follow. Barb Oslo was good enough to send me information on the family line going back to Maciej C born abt. 1771. I have information from Ancestry going back to a Maciej Cyrzan Studzinski in 1550, but I am fairly certain that information may be incorrect.
Thank you so much.

Hi again,

Actually, Geneteka is sending you to baptism #46. Not sure where you saw the number 104.

Here is a link to the image:

Okay, sorry, I was afraid of that. When I clicked on SKAN I saw, on the right side of the screen, that birth and 1888 were highlighted with a file number of 104. I thought that was a reference to file number 104 on the left side. I now see that the reference was under the original search. Sorry for my confusion and thank you for the clarification.

Oh, I see what you did there! Perfectly understandable. That 104 is just indicating that Metryki has 104 "plików" (computer files) containing images of baptism records for 1888 for that parish. Now that you know to use Geneteka's "akt" number, you are off and running again.

Best of luck!

Hi,
If it helps, I read all the birth records of your Konstanty's siblings. You will find dates and other annotations below:

1886 Józef Chrzanowski (probably brother)
11.03.1888 Rozalia Chrzanowska, maried to Antoni Konstanty Napiórkowski on 3.07.1910
18.02.1890 Konstanty Chrzanowski
15.01.1892 Czesław Chrzanowski
22.01.1894 Adolf Chrzanowski, married to Joanna Dąbrowska on 31.01.1923
09.04.1896 Józefa Chrzanowska
30.04.1898 Antonina Chrzanowska, maried to Ludwik Abramski on 18.02.1925, married to Adolf Tusinski on 24.02.1936
17.08.1905 Zofia Chrzanowska
