Post subject: Help finding Muzyk family
Dear PolishOrigins forum,
Back in January of last year, I asked y'all for help finding the village of my great-great grandfather John Muzyk. (Linked here: https://forum.polishorigins.com/viewtopic.php?t=23272). Since then, I've tried to search for any record of the Muzyk family from the area of Velyki Pidlisky/Novyi Yarchiv. But unfortunately this search has uncovered literally zero record of any member of the Muzyk family existing in the area. I've located what I think is the ship manifest due to the last name, arrival town, and relative in USA, but the birth date is 4 years off what is recorded in his obituary. Family lore has him with a completely different origin in Kyiv compared to all of this, and I don't know what to make of this. Please help if you can. I don't know if this is within the scope of this forum, but I assume (maybe wrongly?) he's Polish so I thought this was the correct place to post this. I've attached the manifest to this post as well.

What year did he come to the United States so we can estimate his birth year? Can you share his obituary?

Hei,
He was born on September 28, 1882. His father’s first name matches the manifest. Here you also have the names of both grandparents.

Thank you so much! Two questions, do you think my ancestor was Polish or Ukrainian/Ruthenian and are these Roman Catholic or Greek Catholic/Orthodox records?

Hi Doug,
The information about your ancestors was obtained from the Greek Catholic church in Podliski Wielkie. They were Greek Catholics. I assume they were Ukrainian/Ruthenian. I will send you more new information today.
