My father's last name was either Rodziewicz or Radziewicz. Do you have any info. on that name...origins? Thank you.

Radziewicz - w grupie nazwisk pochodzących od imion złożonych typu Radosław, Radomir, też od rady ‘zadowolony’, rada, radzić.

Radziewicz - Winnicki złożenia brak; Radziewicz w grupie nazwisk pochodzących od imion złożonych typu Radosław, Radomir, też od rady ‘zadowolony’, rada, radzić; Winnicki od nazwy miejscowej Winniki (kilka wsi).

Rodziewicz - Bielewicz złożenia brak; Rodziewicz od podstawy rod , por. rodzić, ród, rodzina, od imion złożonych typu Rodomił; Bielewicz 1556 w grupie nazwisk pochodzących od biały, biel, bielić.

Rodziewicz - Glebo złożenia brak; Rodziewicz od podstawy rod , por. rodzić, ród, rodzina, od imion złożonych typu Rodomił; Glebo od imienia Gleb. Imię występuje w Kościele wschodnim, jest prawdopodobnie pochodzenia normańskiego. W Polsce wschodniej imię notowane od XIV wieku jako Gleb, Hleb, Hlib, Lib.

Thank you. Gilberto, can you translate this for me? You helped me tremendously in 2012,where you found my father's birthplace -- Paszuncy. (you found an article in Biblyoteka Cyfrowa that mentioned the village near Lida) A ship's manifest carried the name Jan Radziewicz that had the right dates, age and birthplace. But my father's last name was Rodziewicz. My father's face and hands were disfigured in a mine accident. His handwriting became worse with age.
What are your thoughts? Thank you.
