Hello,
I am in need of much help regarding finding the marriage certificate or any records (even death recrods or birth) of my great grandparents . I am trying to see when they were born and what the names were of their parents. I have searched on geneteka.pl and nothing really comes up , no record of their marriage.

This is what i sort of know:

name of husband: Jozef Baranowski (birth maybe 1870s)

name of wife: Waleria Nowaczik (maybe 1870s early 1880s)

residence: Kujawsko - Pomorskie (Kuyavian-Pomeranian at time was West Prussia I think...) maybe in the Grudziądz or Torun area

i think they lived until the 1930s -1940s

i hope someone can help me
thank you! Smile

It those times civil records (death, marriage, birth) vere kept in the parish church of place somebody lived. So you have to know more or less the name of village or town where your ancestor lived. Grudziądz and Toruń areas are too big, there is a lot of parishes arund this cities.........
Maybe you have some old documents of your granparents?

You can check Grudziądz in www.genealogiawarchwach.pl
A tip for other places:
in Geneteka type Baranowski and narrow the search between 1860 and 1880
the result will show you the places where Baranowskis were living during that frame
then go the site above and check every place found in Geneteka
do the same for Nowaczyk.

Hello
Thank you. Yes I've used but that link doesn't work for genealogia watch wach do you think you could repost the link? Also I looked on geneteka and I see some potential Baranowski that could be relatives but it's hard to tell. Someone above said records may be in church parishes but it's hard to know what village they are from. I know my grandma was born in Grudziądz County (Jasiewo is the village) and a sister was born in Torun which was called wolf serve kreis thron during the Prussian times. I guess I can reach out to these places to see what they have relating to Baranowski in the relevant time periods. As for Nowaczik it's really really hard probably hardest one to find compared to anyone here looking for their relatives. I haven't seen any instances of this name. Please let me know what you think is best to do because I saw like 5 or so potential Józef Baranowski but no Nowaczik. Maybe marriage records may tell their parents name? Thanks

I am sorry. This one is the correct: www.genealogiawarchiwach.pl
Records from Jasiewo would be in Gruta or Orle parishes.
