Post subject: Car rental and types of fuel
Asking on behalf of a friend who will be visiting Poland....
Can someone explain the type of car fuel called "gaz" in Poland? I am only familiar with "benzyna" (what we call gas or gasoline) and diesel, and of course electric cars. What is gaz? Is it more economical than benzyna? Would it be available everywhere, or only in large cities? Can you get rental cars that use gaz? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi!
The gaz you mean may be the gaz LPG - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquefied_petroleum_gas
There are many LPG gaz stations, usually at the typical gasoline/benzyna stations. The terminal is operated by skilled man, so driver does not load tank by himself. If your friend is afraid about gaz LPG cars, then dont worry at all! Gaz LPG is just addition to ususal gasoline/benzyna cars. So if you drive gaz LPG enabled car, you can just drive on gasoline/benzyna like always and leave gaz LPG unused. The LPG is more economical than gasoline/benzyna, cheaper when driving long distance. Some simple preeliminary explanaition/skills are needed to drive LPG gaz enabled car, since there is additional switch. Normally, ignition is done by gasoline/benzyna, after a minute or so we switch to gaz LPG when desired. So its up to the driver what fuel he uses. Just keep the switch at always same position to drive on gasoline/benzyna.
