Hello everyone,

I am trying to figure out the spelling of the handwritten place of birth (Miejsce urodzenia) on my grandmothers marriage document. The attached document is from 1931, though she was born in 1889 and married in 1909 (if that helps at all).

My best (and almost certainly wrong) guess is "Pvartosroirny". If anyone has an idea as to the name of this town or where it is located, please let me know!

Thank you,
Scott

Scott,

The name of the village of birth is Bartoszowiny and the name of the parish is Nowa Słupia which appears on the certificate as Słupia Nowa. Both places appear on the attached map.

Wishing you success in your research,

Dave

Wow.

I don't know how that handwritten word turned into "Bartoszowiny" but this all fits together now. My grandfather was from a town just south of there and they were married in Szumsko (his parish, which is due Soutch of Bartoszowiny.. Google maps shows a large church there in the center of town.

You've been a great help Dave, thanks so much!

Scott
