Hello again,

I'm looking for the origin and meaning of Braciszewski surname. I was wondering what the ending "-ego " means.
I received an e-mail from the Archiwum Panstwowe in Poznan,the name of my gggrandfather, was Martina Braciszewskiego.
Also,where is Debnica ? Are there any Roman Catholic parishes there? I guess that's where he was baptized.Is it anywhere near Slawno ?

I'm interested in your email from Poznan. What is the email address? How long did it take you? Etc.... Were you specifically looking for the name of your grandfather in your request? Etc. etc. Thanks...

I e-mailed poznan.ap.gov.pl and got the response from Stefan Olejniczak,[email protected].
I think it was July and received the response on aug. 15th
The e-mail was in Polish,so I need to get someone to translate.
From what I can tell it asks for $29 for documents for marriage docs of my ggrandfather Martin
Braciszewski and wife Cecylia Koteras in 1849 and another of Cecylia's birth 1822.Also mentions ,Slawno and Debnica.

That's about the right price for those documents.
EZA has a fixed fee a bit more than that, and additional copying charges.

I also tell others about my writing to some archive in Belarus and getting a reply after 3 months asking for $300 to be sent
to someone I did NOT write to! Nothing was described what I'd get, just the "send the money to ..<his>"

Would these "documents" be different than what you can get from the Mormon Library? I know the "Poznan Project" says there is film available. I'm hoping to go up to Salt Lake City in the next few weeks to see for myself what's available before I write to the Archives in Poznan. I would guess all you can get is a marriage certificate, birth etc. right?

Yes, I did the the original info from Poznan project.
I contacted an LDS church near me and asked their family center if I could order those microfilms. The numbers which I needed are also on the Poznan Project,by dates;B/M/D.etc.
So I plan on going there to order them,but you have to view them at the LDS Church.
Next,if I didn't get any results,I'd send for the info in Poland from Archiwum Panstwowe and we'll see what happens !

Braciszewski is from Polish brat, bracia (pl) - brother, brothers or from the name place Braciszewo. Also appears in ancient dithematic names such as [i]Bratumił[/i.

There is six Debnicas in present-day Poland but "yours" is most probably this one on the map here: http://bit.ly/aZYOlO . And yes, in this Debnica there was the parish seat.
