My grandfather, Charles Stanley Bagenski (Kazimeirz Stanislaw Baginski) listed Strekowo as his birthplace. The name of his birth village was variously reported as Steinkow, Strykov and Strykovo in arrival and naturalization documents. I recently located the village of Strekowo, about 63 miles south of Lomza and suspect this to be the birthplace of he and his two brothers who all emigrated to the USA about 1910. I have found two Catholic parishes in Nur, about 4 miles away. I would like to identify the parish church where 1891 records would be maintained for births in Strekowo. Thanks for any help. It happened in Nur on 6 (18 ) February 1891 at 11 a.m. Appeared Piotr Bagiński, farmer 50 years old living in Stranków in the presence of Antoni Falkowski 60 years old and Józef Sobota 40 years old, both farmers living in Stranków and show us male child and said that he was born in Stranków on 5 (17 ) February 1891 at 10 a.m. from his legal wife Magdalena maiden name Pietrzak 28 years old. Child was baptised under the name Kazimierz. Godparents Wojciech Popław and Teofila Bagińska.
Act was read to present, all illiterate, signed only by the priest.
