I am trying to find out if my Dziadzia was related to Casmir Kubala. My Dziadzia's name was Vincent Kubala, born about 1881 in Debno. He married Josephine Chodacki, also from Debno.
Thanks
Lou Kubala

In Poland, there are at least 14 village & 1 city called Dębno:

You need to find out from which region he came. Maybe the big city was near? Or what province?

grandfather = Dziadzio or Dziadek
Casmir = Kazimierz
Vincent = Wincenty
Josephine = Józefa or Józefina

according to the 1920 census it says his birthplace was Galicia/Galizien/Halychyna. it says his mother was also Galicia. The census said the year of his immigration was 1901, and was born about 1882. I hope this helps. According to the ships manifest dated 3/13/1903 ( Barbarossa) he was from Debno with ethinicity listed and Austria/Polish. There seems to be some conflict re his date of immigration.

I am hoping you have found the information you were seeking. If not, I may be able to help. I have only recently found this site, as my mother has handling my father's Polish research and I have just begun to search for the lines she could not find. My maiden name is Chodacki and my ancestors were from Debno, Krakow region of Poland. They immigrated to New York, then to Michigan in the early 1900s. I do have a Vincent Kubala born 1881 in my tree, son of Simeon and Agnes Paryto. I do not have Vincent married, but his mother Agnes was the sister to Margaretha, one of my ancestors. Margaretha Paryto married Hilarii Cebula, and their daughter Apolonia married Jan Chodacki, my gr. gr grandfather. If any of this sounds interesting or correct, feel free to contact me.
