Post subject: Hamlet of Ostrow & Ancestors Living There
I am trying to find the location of the town where some of my ancestors lived and from where they were deported by the Russians. The town or hamlet was called Ostrow and I understand that there were a lot of towns with this name. The Ostrow I am wanting to locate I believe is now part of Belarus. The nearest village was called Rogoznica and I understand it was about 7km away. It had a river called Zelwienka (not sure if spelling is correct) on one side and as of 1939 there were only around 10 families living there. The name of the ancestors living in Ostrow was Zofia Kaczynski and she was married to Ignacz Ferenc with three surviving children Ryzard, Bogdan and Alicja. Is anyone able to help with information?
Thank you in advance.
