Post subject: Web site with list of surnames?
I found this website tonight and am not sure exactly what it is. It seems to have the names I am researching and the parish. How should I use it?http://www.nobiles.republika.pl/mlawski.html

Carol,
This website, which can be also searched through our Polish Genealogy Databases tool: http://polishorigins.com/databases/ , lists names and coats of arms of noble families and places (villages and parishes where they lived) of nobility of western Mazovia.
If you found among the names your ancestors surnames you have a good hint where (in which parish) dig deeper for genealogical data about them.

I found another website which I think it is in Russian Cyrillic. I believe some surnames I am looking four are here. It is Russian nobility during the time they occupied that part of Poland. Please tell me what the symbolism means UVUO II?http://www.empire-rus.ru/nobility.htm carol

The URL http://www.uvuo.ru can be placed in the box of http://translate.google.com, select 'detect language' & translate to English.
It appears to be on Education. Nothing about surnames.

This seems to be correct decoding of the UVUO abbreviation:
Book by Lukomskii (V.) and Troďnitskii (S) (in transcription of Russian Cyrillic into Latin alphabet): Ukazateli k Vysochaďshche Utverzhdennym Obshchemu gerbovniku dvorianskikh rodov Vserossiďskoi Imperii i gerbovniku dvorianskikh rodov Tsarstva Pol'skago. St. Petersburg, 1910. Which can be translated as: List of the noble families registered in the armorial general of the Russian Empire (1798-1908) and the armorial of the Kingdom of Poland.
