On our Facebook page there was a question concerning the origins of Mitkiewicz surname.

Mitkiewicz is from the dialect word mitka = nitka, “thread”.

In 2002 there were 202 individuals using the surname Mitkiewicz living in Poland. Detailed map of the surname distribution can be found here: https://nazwiska-polskie.pl/Mitkiewicz .

In the old Poland there was noble family of Mitkiewicz in Mińsk area in 1648.
