Thank you for adding beautiful Tatra Mountain, this is where my dad's ancestors came from.

I am wondering if where can I find book of Tatra Mountain as family tree for myself.

Arlene,
you may be able to find a book on the Tatra Mountains at one of your local bookstores or at a public library. Your ancestors' home village was Waksmund, wasn't it?

Here is a link to some pictures of Waksmund: http://www.panoramio.com/user/2057647/tags/Waksmund

Hello,
I really enjoyed the Waksmund pictures. Does anyone have pictures of Morawczyna where my ancestors are from?

Arlene~ I was given this coffee table photo book by a recently found Polish cousin: Tatry: Gory Najpiekniejsze/The Tatra Spell (in Polish & English) by Ryszard Ziemak (ISBN 83-221-0649-1) published in Poland in 1994. It's now out of print, but there are vendors selling used copies on Amazon.

Anyway it includes a photo of Dolina Waksmundzka (Waksmundzka Valley) between Mounts Wallachian (Woloszyn) and Koszysta and a photo of Rusinowa Polana. But please note, I'm pretty sure the village of Waksmund is not in the Waksmundzka Valley.

Yes you are correct, the village of Waksmund is just west of Nowy Targ. Dolina Waksmundzka is directly south about 15 miles in the Tatra National Park near Rusinowa Polana. See my map.

I created two new topics for Waksmund, here: http://forum.polishorigins.com/viewtopic.php?t=810 and Morawczyna, here: http://forum.polishorigins.com/viewtopic.php?t=811 in the 'Villages and towns of our ancestors' origins' section of our Forum: http://forum.polishorigins.com/viewforum.php?f=28 .

Please continue your conversation about these villages in these topics for others interested in the same places have chance to find all interesting information in one place.

Hello Arlene
Targ (Tatra Area Research Group ) is an excellent website if you are interested in the Tatras.

The book "The Slovak-Polish Tatras "
ISBN 80-9675-474-2
might be available at your library or you might purchase it through Amazon.com

Best wishes,
Patyia

Thank You, Paty!

I am sorry for not replying you quickly. I will look for them at Polish Book Store. I think all Waksmundzkis are living in U.S.A. and I don't know if I can find another Waksmundzki in Poland.
Thanks again.

My cousin Renatka shared a beautiful view with me that she took about 1 mile below Gron-Lesnica. (Approx 10 m south of Nowy Targ.)
