Are you sure the place's name is spelled correctly? I have found a Stefan Kozlowski, b. 1895, in a Repressed database.

Step 1: Google “Podbrodzie”
Podbrodzie (modern day Pabradė) is in Lithuania and can be found at map co-ordinates 54°58'59" N / 25°46'59" E. It is about 40kms north east of Vilnius.
It belonged to the parish of Korkożyszki (modern day Karkažiškė, Lithuania).
http://www.podbrodzie.info.pl/

You are in luck that the BMD records for this parish (the Catholic parish of St Peter & Paul the Apostles) are accessible online at the web site www.epaveldas.lt You need to do a search on the parish of Karkaziskes
http://www.epaveldas.lt/paieska?p_p_id=searchresultsportlet_WAR_searchresultsportlet10SNAPSHOT&q=karkaziskes&t=1

Note: the word “gimimo” refers to births, “santuokos” to marriages, and “mirties” to deaths.
For you grandfather’s 1895 birth certificate you would need to search through the document named “Karkažiškės RKB gimimo metrikų knyga. 1893--1898 m” http://www.epaveldas.lt/object/recordDescription/ARCH/748/1/13

Given that this part of Poland was under Russian administration at the time, all documents are written in the Russian cursive handwriting.

Fortunately for you someone has gone through the document (I think) and indexed them.

The bad news is that there is no matching birth record for any Stefan Kozłowski in this parish.

Happy hunting

Tom
