Hi, I’m back. I’ve been working on other parts of my heritage lately but I have had an interesting development in my Milewski line. I know it’s a reach but I’ll explain my thoughts. Last year I did a DNA test with Ancestry but nothing came up for the Milewski but three people who didn’t know anything more than I did. Then last week I started talking to a guy who was also a Milewski and who tested as a distant cousin. But the relationship must be in Poland. He came to the US when he was just fifteen and he comes from a place called Goniadz which he said is right next to Nadbory the town my grandfather came from. Is there some way I can use this to information to get a feeling for other relatives.
Thank you in advance.

You can find out if they came from the same parish and search their reoords to see if you can find a connection. Has the other guy done any real research? If not, you will need information from him so you can have a starting point in the records fromm his branch of the tree.

I have done with with many of the finds I have had with DNA testing. I've done the autosomal test with FamilyTreeDNA.com, Ancestry.com and 23andMe.com. When they are all on sale, they go for the same price of $59.00. I have 9 surname projects that I administration. Eight of them are Polish. So far 6 of those go back to the Bronze age in the Russian Steppes. Haplogroups were R1a and N1c1 to start with 67 Y-DNA markers tested. It's very interesting. One Polish branch was from the Middle Rhine area during the Middle Ages. The other Polish one was from NE Aftica. My mother's family is English/Irish. Autosomal tests were on all 9 branches, plus others. Had a male cousin do an mtDNA, so I could get her DNA haplogroup. Her mother's family waas also from the Southern Russian Steppes.

I've enjoying moving into DNA testing because I ran out of paper documents for my Polish ancestors,
