Bill,
I read it as Kezibroda (reminded me Koziebrody). Maybe Pucka is how Pl~óck is pronounced.

Well thanks for trying. I couldn't find anything on Kezibroda but Koziebrody is on the map and it states it use to be in Plonsk. (Near Warsaw) But maybe I'll try looking for some old towns in Galicia since it states Russia also.

Last month I took lots of pictures of BMD indexes from Koziebrody and they covered 1889. However, the indexes were in Cyrillic, which I am not able to read. These imagens were sent to another genealogical website and are available for volunteers who are willing to help transcribing them. If the place of your ancestor is Koziebrody, maybe his/her names could be on those indexes.
From what I have seen, draft cards would state Galicia or Austria if the person was born there, rather than Poland-Russia as in this card. Misspelling of polish names are also very common in non polish papers.

Yes I agree with the Galicia or Austria-Hungary on most forms. I re-checked his census records and they state Russia/Poland also. I'm thinking he may be from the Ukraine area of Galicia. His name is Anthony Spiegoski b.1888 (emigrated 1910).

There is a Antony Spiegowsky arriving at EI on May 31, 1902. He was "only sixteen", which is very close to the birth year on the draft card. His father was Franz and his last residence was Radzanowo, in Pl~ock powiat.

I forgot to add he naturalized on August 24, 1938, accordingly to the note on the ship manifest.

I gave you the wrong year, it was in 1902, his wife was 1910. Off to EI for the record, Dzienki!

Things are getting better and better: his father Francis arrived on March 8, 1900 and declared his place as Gradzanowo, in mlawski powiat. Now, guess what? Gradzanowo is located less than 10 mile N of Koziebrody!

I have just asked a member of our brazilian group to send the scanned images for the birth indexes 1886 and 1889. I have a fair idea of how Spiegowski looks like in Cyrillic. Enjoy your Sunday! As soos as get the images I will let you know.

I cannot locate this record, I tried it through Ancestry and also Steve Morse's gold search at Ellis Island. Got a hint for me?

Thanks I finally got it. I see #8 was also from the same town and both going to Pittsburgh. Anna is going to her uncles house in Detroit- this is the same address (312 Tillman st) where I found the Spiegowski living in the 1920 and 1930 census. The puzzle is all fitting together, thanks for your extra help.
