Hi Billy,
What extension your file has? For images allowed file extensions are: gif jpeg jpg png tga tif .
Maximum file size is 1 MB. You can resize your using, for example, on-line tool: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ .

Still cant resize thses scans i've tried the link you sugested but file come out unreadable any other options??

You can also always click on "email" button which is at the bottom of each post of a given member (if only she or he decided to allow for communication via email). However you can send only text in its body, no attachments.
I always advise not to reveal directly emails addresses on any websites because of spam and privacy issues.
