I am 1st generation Australian & do not speak Polish. My mother (died 2012) was born in Lida, ? near Grodno in 1918. Her mother's maiden name was Kazimara Kulikoska whose father was Jan Kulikowski - apparently a land owner. Kazimara and her husband Yan Andrzejewski brought up their family on a property "Koluzzi" ? near Grodno. Would this fit in with anyone else's family?
I can also answer why so many Poles were in Persia in 1942. Someone in the Forum, perhaps Elizibeta or Gilberto, was asking this but I don't know where to find them. Can someone help as I can't figure out how to work this forum?

LIT-2236,
Welcome to the forum. I hope that you will recieve a lot of help and advices from our members.
I've moved your inquiry to the separate thread. This way it would be easier for others to notice it.
The thread about Poles in Persia during 2nd World War is here: http://polishorigins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2208
Good luck with your research!

I try and read all the hints but am a bit of a "Dinosaur"..... always end up where I'm not supposed to be.... or can never find where I've been! Jenny

Oh, Jenny, you gave me a good laugh. You took the words right out of my mouth in your posts/replies! I am still floating around, but slowly catching on---stick to it. The people here are so helpful.

Thanks Trishsa, glad to have support. If you ever see someone signing off "Thikasabrik" (Thick as a brick - an Aussie saying) you'll know that's me too! Did you happen to find that "long reply" to the thread about Poles in Persia I wrote.... still haven't found it!

Hey Jenny,
After you log in, on the right hand side of the page under "Become A Patron of Polish Origins" you will see "View Your Posts". If you click on that it will bring up the forums you have posted under, which may lead you to your missing long reply about Poles in Persia.
Good Luck,
Joann

Thanks Joann,
Will try that. Perhaps I sent the "post" as a private message to someone - if so I hope they contact me! Anything can happen when I get in front of a computor!
