Post subject: Help finding possible locations from marriage record
Hi everyone,
Ryszard translated a marriage record for me, but I am having some difficulty finding the birth villages and gminas of the groom. Can anyone offer some possibilities?
I am including the full translation from Ryszard below. Thanks for your help!
Cynthia
No. 11
Piawna/Pijawnja [or?]
Completed in Gradzanowo [sp?] on 17 May, 1870, at 8:00 PM. We declare that in the presence of witnesses Jozef Mijakowski [?], residing with his brother in Sl ___ [?], age 22, and Jan Kurkiewicz, Gradzianow gmina [parish or community], age 44, that concluded today was the religious marital union between ALEKSANDR KRYGIER, single, born in the village of Griszek [?] parish of Grisz [?], Sachaczew [?] uezd [district], Warsaw province, son of deceased Karl and his still living wife Katarzyna nee Kustierkiewicz [?], he is a fisherman residing in S_gulna [?], age 29, and ELZBIETA SZMAGER [?], single, 18 years of age, born in Pakost [?], Grand Principality of Poznan, daughter of Stanislaw and his deceased wife Małgorzata nee Dobraniecka, she resides in Pijawnja with her father. The marriage was preceded by the threefold proclamation of the banns of marriage, published in the local and Radzianow parish churches on 19 April/1 may, 26 April/8 May, and 2/14 May of the current year. Permission for the bride to marry was given orally by her parents before the ceremony. The newlyweds declared that no prenuptial agreement had been concluded between them. The marriage ceremony was conducted in the local church by Fr. Piotr Pawlowski. This act was read and signed by us as indicated below. Registrar of civil acts, Fr. Piotr Pawlowski, Jozef Mijakowski, Jan Kurkiewicz

Thanks, Gilberto!
I have Smólnia for Sluga based on other records I have for Alexander Krygier in Radzanow.
Any idea where I can locate records for Gizyce? I checked Metrykl and they don't have the year I need (abt 1841); they have limited birth and marriage records online.
Also, I follow everything in your comment, except: "Cegielnia (Ratowska), I think". I don't understand how this comment links with the record. Can you explain?
Thanks, again!

Cynthia,
I thought it could be the phonetics: Sgula = Cegielina. Not a big shot.
I read her name as Kusmierkiewicz. There are some in Wozniki, 2 miles away from a place named Smolino.

Ok, that explains it. Thanks.
Based on another record I have for Katarzyna Kuzmierkiewicz, her likely birth place is also Gizyce. Any idea where I can find records for Gizyce?
