Dear PO friends,

In the old Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth was it required that you were a nobleman to be a priest? It seems many priests were noblemen in most records I have found. Or was it rather the ability of nobles to pay for education required for vocation?? I thought I read somewhere that this was the case but I am probably wrong (which will not be the first or last time)
