Hello

I found an index to my ancestors birth in the microfilm on FamilySearch for Gacz.

In the microfilm 8121155
Kościół rzymsko-katolicki. Parafja Łopienno (Gniezno)

I couldn’t find the actual record of the baptism. But when I reached out to an ancestry person for $, they were able to find the record. It looks like it was from a microfilm.

My question, is there another spot to find these? The date range I’m looking for is 1873 and doesn’t fit any other microfilms for this area in FamilySearch

They only supply the record but do not offer microfilm numbers

Thanks

Here is a link to browse records from 1874-1935

https://szukajwarchiwach.pl/53/1889/0/?q=%C5%81opienno++XSKANro:t&wynik=27&rpp=15&page=2#tabZespol

I will look elsewhere to see if I can find 1873 online and post again later.

Best,
Cynthia

Thanks for the help, but unfortunately That film does not have baptisms for 1873.

Hi,

You are correct, that particular film does not have 1873 baptisms. However, there is a film of Łopienno (Gniezno) that should, #2062045, DGS #8121156. Here is the list of what it says it includes:

Indeks urodzeń 1893-1964 -- Indeks małżeństw 1821-1871 -- Akta urodzeń, małżeństw, zgonów (druga kopia) 1808-1832, 1837-1838, 1841-1850 -- Akta urodzeń (druga kopia) 1851-1874

Unfortunately, this is one of the films whose images are not freely available online. You would have to view the images at a Family History Center.

If it's not there, you could look at 8121681 which also can only be viewed at a Family History Center.

Best of luck in your research,
Sophia

Hi again,
Would you mind posting the image of the index in which you found your ancestor's baptism? You have not mentioned their name.
Thanks,
Sophia

Sophia

She is on image 271 on film 8121155, #63, Mary Koteras

I looked through the rest of that film and she’s not in there

Thanks, yes, I see her there. And lucky at that, since the title of this part of the index does not acknowledge that it goes as far as 1873.
I do wish you luck with the other two microfilms that I mentioned above. One or the other should have her full baptism record. It's just that you'll have to go to a Family History Center to see them.
I was asking about the name, because I thought I might be able to show you the family on a record of inhabitants. Unfortunately, these records must only be families living in Łopienno itself, because I do not find any Koteras on the 1879-1890 list.

The document is in German. Its title "Seelenliste" taken literally means List of Souls.
Best,
Sophia
