Hi, Okay. I have seen his age at the wedding. He was 22 years old. This means that he was born ab. 1840. All records relating to the family could be found in the Catholic Church Białystok NMP. I have looked at the death records from the Evangelical church in Białystok for the years 1870-1884. I could not see any Matys. But I found the surname Mathes. Heinrich Mathes who died on February 18, 1872, at the age of 32 years. This gives a suggested birth year of 1840. Attaches this record (no. 15). You can see if this is the person you are looking for. Additional info. In the headline "Geburtsort des Verstorbenen"(Birthplace of the deceased) the place Turek is noted. Turek is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Poświętne, within Białystok County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland. About 39 km from Białystok. regards, -Barb |

I don't think so. Note that on this page, another person was born in Turek. Checked the Evangelical parish in Turek (Poznan) for the years 1838-1842, and Henrik is not listed there. -Barb |

According to many people who translate Henryk's marriage record to Ludwika, they say they miswrote his father's name with the priest's name.
