Post subject: Tylka Family
My name is Andrew Tylka and I have been researching my family history for little under a year. My grandfather's cousin was the main genealogical researcher for the Tylka family, but he has since passed on. I am looking for more information on my great great great grandfather. His name was Micheal/Michael Tylka.
Here below is information on Michael's son Bronislaw/Brony Tylka Sr.
He was from Nowy Targ, as indicated by his death certificate. Other records show his birth place as Nowy Sacz. I found out the city of Nowy Targ was under the jurisdiction of Nowy Sacz County, where as Nowy Targ is now under the jurisdiction of Nowy Targ County in Lesser Poland District (Voivodeship).
Brony was a son of Michael TYLKA and Paulina UNKNOWN-TYLKA of Poland, according to his death certificate. His mother's name was actually Albina CHLEBEK [CHLOPEK?/HLEBEK/KLEBYCZK?] and other various spellings.
I have also found out that michaels parents were Adelbertus Tylka (born around April 1808) and Theresa Turczonja (birth date unknown to me).
Adelbertus' parents are listed as Joannis/Joannes Tylka and Marianna Dozworzanka (their birthdates are unknown to me at this time). I am coming on here in hope to find more information on these Tylka family members. I am also hoping that these tylka family members could also connect to other tylkas on this site.
If you have any info or advice on where to look please let me know.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks Trish, this was useful information.
It appears that the children of Michael (Michał) Tylka and Albina nee Chlebek were born in Wielopole parish Wielogłowy. I found:
Bronisława born ab. 1878
Carolina born 1879
Paulina born 14.03.1884
Bronisław born 19.02.1886
Józef born 7.03.1888
Albin born 1.02.1889
Hiacynt born 30.12.1889
Władysław born 16.04.1892
Aleksander born 25.10.1893
I had really little time today. Busy times at work, but will look into it more.
According to the documents I have read, it appears that Michael's parents were Jan Tylka and Marianna nee Krzeptowska. Albina's parents were Jakub Chlebek and Anna Cikowska.
Albina died at the age of 39, on September 26, 1894 in Wielopole. So she was born ab. 1855.
Regards,
-Barb

Hi Andrew,
I am trying to access the parish of Wielogłowy. I'm a little unsure what you know about the family and what you're looking for. Was this information useful to you?
You provided other names for Michael's parents.

I am mainly just looking for anything to fill the blanks (birthdates, place of birth, parents, grandparents, etc.)...I might have mentioned in my first post on here that my grandpas cousin did most of the family tree and genealogical work for decades. It appears he found that michaels parents were listed as Adelbertus/adalbertus tylka (born around April 3rd of 1808) and theresia turczonja. It seems he also found that adelbertus' parents were Joannis tylka and Marianna dozworzanka. It says that joannis and marianna had three kids. Mathous tylka, born around September 1813 and died in 1838. Adelbertus who I mentioned. And their first child I saw, catharina tylka born around 1805.
That's almost all I can remember as of right now, hope it helps.

This may also be useful but I found records showing theresia and Adelbertus had a daughter named Theresia tylka, I couldn't find her birthdate.
I also found a record showing that michael and Albina had a daughter named maryanna/marianna. And there was mentions of a son named theophile.

Hi Andrew,
I managed to find some more information about your family. First explanation about Nowy Sacz and Nowy Targ. The locations are a little under 100 km from each other.
The Tylka-Chlebek family is connected to both places. The oldest children were born in Ciche parish Chochołów. I would think Michael and Albina also got married there. Then the family moved to the village of Wielopole, which belongs to the parish of Wieloglowy (see map). The other children were born in Wielopole.
Albina died in Wielopole, which I mentioned yesterday, and their children were married there as well.
I am now researching who Michael married after she died. Maybe it was Magdalena Wieczorek. If this is correct, then Michael died on January 13, 1900 in Wielopole.
I am also attaching the birth record for Aleksander (Michael and Albina's son born in 1893). There you can see who were the parents of Albina and Michael. So I confirming information from yesterday.
Michael's parents were Jan Tylka and Marianna nee Krzeptowska. Albina's parents were Jakub Chlebek and Anna Cikowska.
Regards,
- Barb

Thank you so much!
the info I had always seen about Michael was that he was born around 1845 and died in 1923 in the United states (unless I got the wrong information). There was a record of a michael tylka who died in Middlesex, New Jersey around March 1923.
I would definitely like to find out more about if he had a second wife/if he died in 1900.

It is certainly possible that he died in the United States!
Note, that I wrote .....IF his new wife's name was Magdalena Wieczorek, then he died on January 13, 1900. I could not confirm this. It could be another person called Michael Tylka.

This may be a coincidence. You said that Bronislawa married Antoni Debski. Bronislawa's brother Brony Sr. Married Antonina Suder. Antonina's mother was Wiktoria debski/debska. Could there be a relation?

I don't think so. Antoni Debski was the son of Pauli (Pawel) and Sophia (Zofia) nee Turkowicz. He was born in the parish of Limanowa.

I'm looking through wiktorias information and it says she was born in limanowa on the 14th of December 1862. It listed these people as her siblings:
Joanes, born 7th of April, 1866
Antonius, born 29th of May, 1869
Could antonius be antoni?
