Post subject: Can someone explain something to me???
In my search for my relatives, I have made friends by email with a young lady in Poland. She happens to live in the town my gggf was born in. Her last name is also my families last name she is getting married in the same church my gggf was baptised in. So we are searching together. She had written to me and said that while she was at the church her and the preist looked through some of the old church books for my gggf. Not only did they find him but other siblings births and deaths. Names and all. So when she emailed me the information the was a strange word in the book. It said "his parents are francis and anna nee stasiowka. There he writes ; Jagiellonian - Jagiela."
So will someone explain to me what Jagiellonian - jagiela is. What is the significants of this name. I also have from the diocese a letter with the births of the american born children and to my surprise one is named Ladislaw who our family called William. When I looked up the name Ladislaw to see what it was in english I found this sentence witht he explaination of the name ( It appeared in the dynastic clans of the Piasts & Jagiellonians, as well as in the ruling clans of Bohemia & Hungary & has long been popular in poland.
So If a preist writes int in a church record book and I find it with the name in another article then it must mean something. Do I try to trace it or what? I am stuck again but I honestly never thought I would get this far. I hope someone can explain to me what the heck this means for my family.

Yesterday ie Tuesday, I was with the priest.
In my day off the books of the same approaches and look for information about Erasmus.
I and the priest found the book of baptisms Erasmus. Erasmus was born in 1862, in 99th house
His parents are Francis and Anna nee Stasiowska.
There he writes: Jagiellonian - Jagieła.
The priest read. To find whatever I need to spend the whole day, very much the books. But we have come far to the fact that Erasmus had a brother ... Laurencius - was born in 1864. Then in 1866 was born Apolonia - sister of Erasmus. She was named Apolonia but died on 1 April 1868roku. Next 28 July 1868 born Sewerinus - brother Erasmus - he died January 3, 1873 year. In 1870roku May 28 was born sister Erasmus - Tekla, died June 15, 1870 year.
I will look for further information. I hope this is good news.

It looks like a sentence which case were in e'mailu.
Perhaps the author e'maila can explain what's going on ...

he was born in Brzeziny in 1862, Baptised at St. Nicholas. here is a copy of his baptismal certificate. Can you look at the fathers parents name and see what the wifes first name is. there is where you read nee Jagiela. May I ask why you want to know. Are you a Jagiela? Or Stasik? Just curious, you never know when you are researching past family members, you might find relations!! Let me know what you think though. So far nobody has been able to make it out, the best guess was Oktune or okture, we just dont know yet.

W książce Stanisława Rymuta “Nazwiska polaków” występują obydwa nazwiska.
In the book by Stanislaw Rymut "The names of the Poles" are both names.

Ok but why would a priest write jagiellonian in his record book? Were you not able to read johns wifes name? Hope someone can help. This is getting very confusing.

There is a town of Jagiella, so the person could be from there. Or it could refer to a last name of Jagiella. That was why I wanted to know where your gggf was born, to see if it might be near the town of Jagiella. But Brzeziny is not near Jagiella.
I am sorry, but I cannot make out the first name of John's wife.
And, I am not related to Jagiela nor Nazik. My last name is Pessarra, and my grandfather came to the USA in 1869, from Loetzen, East Prussia, now Gizycko, Poland, up in the Mazury Lake area.

Do not bother Jagiellonian meaning of the word. In an act of such a word does not exist.
