My name is John (Jan) Cichacz. I have just started to research my Polish background.
My father Jozef Cichacz was born 2nd February 1021 in (wies) Kajew, (gmina) Blanie, (pow) Kutno. His father is Michal Cichacz and mother (maiden name) is Rozalia Wisniewska. Hewas transported to Germany in May 1940 where he married and migrated to Australia in 1950 with his wife and two children - my sister(born 1947) and me (born 1945).
My father died in 1962 and I am trying to track his relatives. I understand that he had a brother who died before he war transported to Germany.

You are lucky. Cichasz is not too common, and you will probably be related to many.

Try two paths.
1) Contact your local Red Cross and ask them to have the Polish Red Cross find relatives.
2) Contact the gmina office and ask them to advise relatives you are looking for them.
