Post subject: Help with Polish translation: request for guardianship
This is a document from 1923 from my great Aunt requesting guardianship of her two children after her husband died. It would be nice to have this document translated.
Thanks in advance ,
Jeff

Here's the best translation I could do - the writing is so faded it is difficult to read. My comments are in square brackets []. The translation does not have the same word order as the Polish text - I have changed the order to make it more understandable (or more English).
[Inscription in the top left corner – probably the case reference number]
Copy
[Stamp of the Ministry of Justice in the top right corner]
Decision
on behalf of the Republic of Poland
It occurred on 7 July [?] 1921.
The Justice of Peace of the Third District of Bialystok, having examined the case of the widow, Anna Karejwa requesting to be appointed as the guardian of underage children – Helena born on 7[?] August 1910, and Wladyslaw born on 8 January 1906.
[This paragraph is hardly legible, here is my best guess:] …. the attached extracts of [letters??? of the Consulate General of (the Republic of Poland?) in New York from 16 May [can’t read the year, probably 1921] …. Adam Karejwa died in America on 19 (or 13) June 19?0 [looks like 1910].
[The following paragraphs are a bit clearer:]
The deceased Adam Karejwa left behind real and personal property, and underage children – daughter Helena aged ten and son Wladyslaw aged 15.
In the light of the data above and taking into account that the widow Anna Karejwa agrees to be appointed guardian, and in accordance with [provisions of relevant legislation] concerning the regulations applicable in the Bialystok Court Distict,
it has been decided
to entrust the guardianship of underage children, son Wladyslaw born in 1906 and daughter Helena born in 1910, bereaved of Adam [unclear surname] who died in America, and of their property, to their mother and widow Anna Karejwa.
? Justice of Peace, B. Bialy? [unclear]
The second scan is the same document overleaf. It contains certification of the authentic signature of:
- the court secretary of the Court in Bialystok, August 1921
- the President of the Court in Bialystok, 31 August 1921
- [third entry illegible but for the date:] 21 September 1921
- [fourth entry is in English]
