Charlotte,
A 1934 index for places in Poland shows that people from Paszunce attended masses at the RC in Trokiele. Another place very close is Zyrmuny. Both were microfilmed by LDS, but only up to 1890, which is to say you can find Jan's parents marriage, but not his birth record. Here is the link for the films:
