I have spent hours and hours, searching all the forums I can (JewishGen, FamilyAncestry, Gesher Galicia, Lebgens), and I am at a complete standstill. I am trying to find my great great grandfather (Maciej Majkut) and grandmother (Regina Mazur). Here is what I know.

Great Great Grandfather: Maciej “Mack” Majkut

Great Great Grandmother: Regina Majkut (née Mazur)

Their 1st born (my Great Grandfather):
Jan/Jon Majkut
Born: June 24, 1888 (some records say 1890)
Born in Milno, Galicia, Austria
Came to USA via Bremen on May 13, 1907
Died: May 11, 1939 (USA)

Their 2nd born (my great Uncle)
Josef/Joseph Majkut
Born: 1892 (Galicia, Austria)
Came to USA via Bremen in 1909
Died: 1915 (USA)

Their 3rd born (my great uncle)

Francisczek/Frank Majkut
Born: 1/7/1893 (Galicia, Austria)
Came to USA via Bremen in 1910
Died: 1959 (USA)
(His marriage certificate says Matteaus Majkut for father & Regina for mother)
(On his Ellis Island he says his mother “Rogina Majkot—misspelling—is still in Zulze, Galicia)

ANY help with tracing Maciej Matteaus Majkut & Regina Mazur would be greatly appreciated. The family history is that Regina was Jewish. So I’ve also searched for Rivka Mazur with no luck.

I have found no record that Maciej or Regina ever immigrated to USA.

Barb, you are going to make me cry with gratitude. I cannot believe you found this so quickly. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. This is the most information my family has ever had about them. You clearly know what you’re doing!
Do you know how I can search for deaths? Would I search the same names on Geneteka?
Again, thankyou!!!

Barb,

You. Are. Incredible. Wow. Thank you so much for me (a complete stranger). How can I ever repay you? You have no idea how much this means to me. Until you, I have felt like I’ve been chasing ghosts. I’m embarrassed at how much time I’ve spent and failed to find all the things you just found for me. I am so very deeply touched. Truly. You’ve given me such a gift. I wish I could send you a card or gift of appreciation!

Hi Barb,

I looked at the image to see if I could help you decipher the surname of Anna's mother Anna. It appears to end in the letters "....uszek" so my wild guesses include Pawluszek and Rambuszek but I am not convinced by either of those. How about Pasztuszek?

Best regards,
Sophia

Hi,
Sophia, I found the 1st copy of this birth record. The surname is Pastuszek, also in other places like Pastuch.
Amajkut, I have a lot of new information for you regarding the main line. Give me some time to put all the pieces in place.

-Barb

Again, Barb, I’m so so grateful. Each update makes my jaw drop. My dad is so astonished to hear about his great grandparents too. My grandfather died when my dad was only 11, so my dad never learned much about his grandparents or great grandparents. You’re truly a gift to us!

Hello again,
As mentioned earlier, I have found something new about your family. I have all the documents that confirm this, but I am a little unsure if you would like to have them. Can send these to you by e-mail if you want.
I have created your family tree as a separate branch on my MyHeritage profile. The chart is in Polish – I could choose between Norwegian and Polish, but I thought Polish might be easier to understand.
Here are also some words that might be good to know, in case you don't have anyone nearby who can help you with the translation.
Przed - Before
Po- After
Okolo -Around
Naodziny - Birth
Smierc - Death
Slub - Wedding
Sty - January
Lut - February
Mar - March
Kwi - April
Maj - May
Cze - June
Lip - July
Sie - August
Wrz - September
Paz - October
Lis - November
Gru – December
A new brother to your great-grandfather Jan. His name is Piotr, and he was born on August 16th1895 in Milno.
You can continue my work. There is much left to be found.

Regards,
-Barb

Barb, I am again left speechless by you. I would LOVE to have any and all records you'd be willing to share. I will private message you my email address. I feel like a broken record, but I truly cannot thank you enough. I'm almost in tears over the level of information you've gifted to me and my family.
