I have been piecing together clues from it trying to figure out what part of Congress Poland his family was from. At the end of the memoir in a sort of epilogue he mentions some of the traditions and history of the people from his area. He called them Yadzwingi After some research I have found that these people are also called Yotvingians or Jaćwingowie in Polish. This tribe lived southern Lithuania and far Northeastern Poland south and west of the River Neman. These lands were all part Congress Poland's Augustow Voivodeship. Given that his family had a village there, I was hoping maybe some records could survive. I'm not even sure where to start looking for local and regional records. Any help appreciated.
