Post subject: Need Help Latin Church Record
I am attaching a baptism record for my grandmother, Marianna Tenczal. Her parents are Antonius Tenczal and Catharina Proczek. Can someone please help me with the translation of this record. There is a Catharina Borowiec prefaced by obit. Who is this person?
Thank you for your help. It is truly appreciated.
Mary Lou

Mary Lou,
It is not 'obit', but 'obst.', the abbreviation for obstetrix = midwife.

Thank you so much. Now it makes sense. Can you make out the rest of the translation? Appreciate it.

You are welcome. Since I don't see the header of the columns I assume 20 28 29 71 may refer to the day of the month (April) > number of children baptised (in that village, in that year) > number of children born > number of the record. Columns after "Mariana" tipycally refer to gender, religion and if the child was leg(itimate) or illegitimate.
Antonini (Antoni, in polish) Tenczal, a farmer (or worker in a farm), son of Ignatti (Ignacy Tenczal) and Juliannae (Juliana, nee Jedryek);
Catharina (Katarzyna), daughter of Antoni Proczek and Petronella Duracz
Godparents: Joannes (Jan) Koboł, agricola=farmer, and Marianna Jezidro (uxor Petri = wife of Piotr)
Priest: Joannes (Jan) Maciaszek.
Not pretty sure about the surnames Jedryek and Jezidro.

Thank you so much again. I thought Jedryek was Jedryiek and Jezidro was Jezioro. Pretty close though. Hopefully, I will be able to find out some more information on Ancestry or Family Search.
