Is their anyone that can read, write, and recognize Yiddish? I was sent what i believe is a birth record of my grandfather. Thanks a mil Carol Tamara

If there isn't anyone here, I suggest you register (free) as a user on www.jewishgen.org. Under the Research menu, there is a section called ViewMate where users can upload documents to be translated by others on the site. There are Yiddish and Hebrew translators there, among other languages.

Thank you so much for the info on JRI. I am a registered user but did not know about the sections you told me about. I had reserved a microfilm years ago but had no idea what if anything I would find on it. Here it takes Ancestry.com to locate a leaf they say could be a match..talk about curious..Unfortunately I am now disabled and bedridden which hampers my research further. I always wondered if my grandfather could have been Jewish because of the Yiddish he apparently spoke. Thanks again. Carol Tamara
