Hi!

Sorry that I am no help in terms of being able to translate Russian cyrillic documents myself, but I did want to share this website about Translation Aids for the documents. It is very helpful and even has a pdf doc with several handouts so you can save them to your computer:

https://www.sggee.org/research/rus_translate/nap_documents.html

Also, the FaceBook group Polish Genealogy has been extremely helpful with this and all types of questions. It is a closed group, but you can request to become a member.

I hope Ryszard is well, he helped me out several times in the past and I wish him the best and hope to see him back at Polish Origins soon.

Beth,

The URL with help for deciphering Russian cyrillic is excellent, thank you!
https://www.sggee.org/research/rus_translate/nap_documents.html

I think it would be better to have it posted in "Research Resources, Tools & Tips" with your title
"Translation Resources for Russian Docs from Poland" so it can be easier to find.
It can help everyone, starting with search in archives, where records are in cyrillic, sometimes totaly in cyrillic.

I do hope Ryszard will be back here with us, and wish him all the best.

Best,
Elzbieta

Best,

Elzbieta,

I was wondering if you could go over this (if possible) and give it your best shot as to translating it. The reason I am so hot to get this translated is it will have the names of the parents of the Bride and Groom, so I can pull in more pieces of the family tree. If it is too taxing I am sure there's a way to get it done.

Thanks for all your help in the past,

Dziekuje,

Hugh

Hugh,

It's extremely complicated for me as scribing is not easy, and it is about Lithuanian area.

Anyway, here is my best effort after a long time.

Please be flexible with my deciphering.

Best,
Elzbieta

Rich,

Here it is. The first part is my painful deciphering, all villages checked.
The second part is a usual summary I do.
I do not understand several words.
I am curious to learn if residents of Warsaw had a kind of ID-cards, numbers 1754 K and 1758 F.

Concerning churches in Warsaw - I recall many months ago someone here on PO had records from Warsaw, and the issue of churches arized. If my memory is good, 8 churches on the left side, St Aleksander being in the very center of Warsaw, and 1 on the right side - Praga side.

Best, and bonne chance,
Elzbieta

Looking for any help in translation to English. I was told it was Russian , but I have no clue what language it is. I was told it was a birth record of Josef Kolos. Possibly my grand father.
