Post subject: Kostawiwsk or Koslawiwsk ? ( Great Poland)
I can not find the birthplase of Marcin Splawski.
Birthplace of Marcin Splawski, which could be either Kostawiwsk or Koslawiwsk, or perhaps another spelling.
He was baptized in Dobrów.
villages near Dobrów is Praksedow. Janów and Police Mostowe

I read it as Zostawiwszy, or something close. Compare the capital Z, in the same line, with Zamieszkalych; in the next line with Zona Jadwiga.

Doesn't Zostawiwszy mean leaving? I cannot find the name of the village in which he was born in the document.

Hi,
Yes. I have checked my sources and it is not the name of a place. This record is a death certificate. In my opinion the witnesses didn't know where he was born, that's why it is not mentioned. The document says he died in Praksedow (na Praksedowie umarl~ Marcin Spl~awski on 5th line).
He was the son of Antoni and Doroty. He was survived by his wife Maryanna Splawski. He was 32 years old.

Thanks for clarifying this. I had seen Dobrow there but I thought it referred to the place he was living (zamieszkalych...) and didn't make a connection with "tu urodzony".
That's the price I pay for not knowing enough about the language.
