Hi Marcel,

I was wondering if you have had a chance to do this translation from May 11th yet? I know you were working on it, but it might have got lost.

It is for the 1st marriage of Karol Rydzewski in 1865 in Przerosl parish, Suwalki

Thank-You!

Kramnik and Weresel

it happened in the town of Przerośl, on October 25th/November 6th 1865, at 2 p.m.
We make it known that in the presence of the witnessesd, Józef Kowalewski, 41 years old and Józef Atkielski, 40 years old, both farmers* living in the village of Wersele, a religious marriage was concluded on this day, between:

Karol Rudzewski, a single man, who was born in Kramnik, in the district of Gołdap in Prussia, a son of the spouses: the late Frydrych Rudzewski and the living Dorota Rudzewska nee Prostek, a farmer living in Kramnik, 21 years old, living at his family in the farm located in Kramnik

and

Rozalia Atkielska, a miss, who was born in the village of Wersele, a daughter of the spouses: the lateAndrzej Atkielski and the living Franciszka Atkielska nee Karotka, a farmer living in Wersele, 22 years old, living at her family in the farm located in Wersele.

This marriage was preceded by the three banns of marriage, announced on Sundays: October 10th/22nd, October 17th/29th and October 24th/November 5th of the current year, in front of the people gathered for Holy Mass in the parish churches in Wiżajny and Przerośl.

The newlyweds' mothers, who were present at writing this marriage act, gave their oral permission for this marriage.

The newlyweds declared they did not enter into the prenuptial agreement.

The religious marriage ceremony was performed by the Przerośl parish-priest, Kazimierz Łopieński.

this act was read to the newlyweds and the witnesses and it was signed by Us because the newlyweds and the witnesses were illiterate.

The parish-priest of the Przerośl parish, Kazimierz Łopieński, serving as Civil Registrar.

*literally it is written: a farmer paying the rent

Thank-You, Marcel! Your translation looks like it might answer some questions that have been puzzling about his birthplace. Your taking the time to translate this for me is very much appreciated. jajan.
